Happy October!
This month’s post is a little different from the previous. I’d like to take a moment to celebrate some of the recent wins and completed projects (and something special for newsletter subscribers!).
Wins and Completed Projects
Let’s dive into the wins!
WIP High Fantasy Novel – 2nd Draft
First up is celebrating the completion of the 2nd draft of my work-in-progress High Fantasy novel! I started the novel a little over a year ago and have been picking away at it. This is a pretty huge win for me, in that I’ve started many books but this is the first that I’ve gotten this far. I also really enjoy the story, so I’ll continue pushing forward with it and see where it goes!
First Published Short
Another first is, I got a short story published! While it’s not my usual genre, it was cool to try something a little new (semi-dark fantasy). It feels good to have something out there in the world, kind of validating that I am a writer and that people (other than me, haha) can enjoy my work!

Creative Writing Wizard Blog YTD
This year, I started this blog that you’re currently reading. I started it out with a few different ideas in mind, but have honed it over the last few months. And it seems that people have been enjoying reading it, because I’m closing in on 2000 views!
I’m really glad that people have checked out my words on the internet, not because of ‘woah cool, look at me’ vibes, but because my writing here is primarily to help other people. Every view is a chance that someone was helped (be it through being encouraged, motivated, or learning some new tip/trick).
When I cross the 1y mark in 2025 I’ll do a bit more of a breakdown of how things have been going and things I’ve learned.
Socials Successes
Another thing I’ve leaned into as a new area has been social media. I started around the same time as this blog earlier this year, and since then I’ve grown from 0 followers and subscribers to over 2300 across socials! That’s amazing!!! I tend not to focus too much on the number itself, because I value the authentic engagements and friends I’ve made along the way more than a number. Though, the more people I’m able to reach with my words, the greater the chance to help even more people!
I’d also like to say that I’ve been blown away by how supportive the Threads writing community has been! I wish I could list out a shout-out to all the people who have cheered me on and how cool their projects are, but the list would be so long! If you’re coming here to read this from Threads, a special ‘hello’ to you my Thriends and Fellowers!
Something Special for Subscribers
I’d also like to give something special to my newsletter subscribers by talking about what is coming up and some of the plans I have over the next several months!
