I should also note, that in cases like these where there is a transfer of services for money that I highly recommend getting your requested service in writing (signed contracts or agreements, ideally) and agree on terms for payment. You can use sites like https://www.the-efa.org/rates/ to compare their rates to standards.

You could also ask for a sample to see if it’s a good fit. Another way to see if their editing style matches your own is to read some of their work!
